January 16th, 2020, Maui, HI – Naish is starting the year off strong with the addition of 2019 PWA 3rd Place Overall Justyna Sniady to the International Naish Windsurfing team.
Hailing from Warsaw, Poland, Justyna is not your average athlete on the PWA Tour. It wasn’t until this past year that Sniady decided to pursue a full-time career in windsurfing. Until 2019, she studied and worked full time, training on her off days and taking holiday leave for events. Despite sacrificing precious time on the water, she still charged ahead and won three national tours (Australian, British, and Polish) – finishing Top 4 in each PWA World Cup Event. She ended the year finishing Top 3 Overall on the 2019 PWA World Tour at this year’s Mercedes Benz Aloha Classic.
Born and raised miles from the ocean, Justyna has made a name for herself in the windsurfing world as she continues to push the sport of female windsurfing. Her love and dedication to the sport began at a young age, and with a huge influence from Robby Naish himself.
“Looking back, it’s crazy how much influence Robby Naish has had on me getting into windsurfing and wave-riding, so I am really stoked to be welcomed to the Naish Team this year. My sail number is POL-1111 and of course Robby was the inspiration for that. I still remember watching his R.I.P. movie as a kid for the first time blown away by what windsurfers can do. Wave sailing was then completely surreal to me, but I knew one day I wanted to try.”
With her 2nd place finish at the PWA World Cup in Gran Canaria in July, Sniady geared up and ready to lead the Naish team to the podium once again.
“I am looking forward to sailing as part of this legendary team. I can’t wait to learn from Robby and everyone at Naish, to test, develop, share ideas, try new things and push boundaries.”
It looks like another promising year ahead for Justyna and we are excited to have such a talented, driven athlete on our team. Welcome to Team Naish, Miss Sniady!
